LA PITTURESSA ONGOING

Anna Paparatti is 'La Pitturessa' (a neologism coined by her grandson, a much more effective and poetic way of saying pittrice, paintress). She has been painting all her life and yet was "discovered" at the tender age of 80.

 

 

A free and happy life recounted in a ongoing documentary (editing is starting nowadays) by director Fabiana Sargentini, her daughter, and cinemtographed by me. With love and curiosity the footsteps are retraced from Calabria to Paris (where she also recently returned to prominence) and Rome. The artists, their works, theater, the 1970s and India in the background as a constant passion that runs through everything.
